    Screen settings

You can change the screen’s behaviour, brightness, viewing size, and quality. For example, select a bigger font or display size for easier reading, or select glove mode to navigate your screen with gloves.

If you want to change your background, see Background and themes Background . To change how long you want to have the screen on before it is turned off, see Turning the screen on or off.

    To change a screen setting

    1. Find and tap Settings > Display.
    2. Tap the setting you want to change.
    3. Use the sliders, checkboxes or additional menus to adjust.

    Brightness level

Adjust the brightness level with the slider. You can also enable Adaptive brightness to automatically optimise brightness based on surrounding light.

    Note

If you make the OLED display very bright or display the same image for a long time, an afterimage may remain on the screen. To prevent afterimages, avoid displaying very bright images for a long time.

    White balance

Select a preset setting you want. You can also use the sliders to adjust the white balance if you select Custom. To revert to the default setting, select Standard.

Prevent accidental operations with screen off

Prevent unintentional operations while your device is in a pocket or a bag. Tap the Prevent accidental operations with screen off switch to enable or disable.

    Colour gamut and contrast

Enhance the quality of photos and videos when viewing them on your device. For example, use Super-vivid mode to make colours appear more vibrant on-screen.

    Note

When Professional mode is selected, the HDR converter cannot be used.

    Auto-rotate screen

Set the screen to rotate automatically when the device is turned, or set it to stay in portrait view.

    Night Light

Night Light switches the colour of the screen to amber. This makes it easier to view the screen in a darker setting, and also makes it easier to fall asleep.

    Screen saver

Set up a screen saver that displays colours or a photo slideshow when your device is charging or the screen is idle. If your device has multiple users, each user can have individual screen saver settings.

    Cover selection

When using a screen cover, adapt your screen to work with the screen cover type.

    Video image enhancement

You can use X-Reality with HDR converter to improve the visual quality of videos when you view them on your device. With this feature, videos recorded in SDR mode are played with HDR-like quality.

    Hint

This feature is applicable only for certain applications.
