    Basic camera tips

    To launch the camera

    • Press the camera key fully down, swipe Normal cam mode icon from the lock screen or tap Camera icon from the Application screen.

    Capturing modes

    Your camera is equipped with four capturing modes. Two are for taking photos, the Superior auto mode and the Manual mode.

    Superior auto optimises settings automatically for many different scenarios. Manual mode is useful when you want more creative control.

    Available settings depend on the capturing mode selected.

    To select a capturing mode

    • When using the camera, swipe the screen to select from photo, video or Camera apps modes.

    Use photo and video apps

    To switch between the main and front camera

    • When using the camera, tap Switch camera icon to switch between the main and front camera.

    To use the zoom

    • When using the camera, pinch in or out on the camera screen or use the volume key to zoom.

    If you zoom in three or more times, this can affect image quality. Instead, take the photo without zoom, then crop it.

    To take a photo

    • When using the camera, press the camera key or tap the shutter button to take a photo.

    To record a video

    1. When using the camera, swipe the screen to select Record video icon.
    2. Press the camera key or tap the shutter button to start or stop recording.

    The maximum recording time is 6 hours.

    To launch the camera and take a photo at the same time

    1. When using the camera, tap Settings icon, then tap More > Quick launch > Launch and capture.
    2. Close the settings menu and exit the camera. The setting is saved for all capturing modes.
    3. Press and hold the camera key to launch the camera and take a photo.

    This feature can also be used for videos. When using the camera, tap Settings icon, then tap More > Quick launch > Launch and record video .

    To take a photo by tapping the screen

    1. When using the camera, tap Settings icon, then tap More > Touch capture > On or Front camera only.
    2. Close the settings menu. The setting is saved in all capturing modes.
    3. Tap anywhere on the screen to take a photo.

    This feature can also be used for videos.

    To take a photo when recording a video

    • When recording a video, tap Camera onscreen icon. The photo is taken as soon as you release the shutter button.

    Self-timer

    Use the Self-timer to get more time to prepare for a photo. It also helps to keep your device steady and avoid blurred photos.

    To use the self-timer with the main camera

    1. When using the main camera, select a photo capturing mode and tap Settings icon.
    2. Tap Self-timer and select the delay time.
    3. Close the settings menu. The Self-timer setting is saved.
    4. Press the camera key or tap the shutter button to take a photo. A series of beeps marks the countdown until the photo is taken.

      When using the front camera, tap Self timer icon to set the Self-timer .

    The shutter button is used differently depending on the capturing mode and activated features.

    To adjust camera settings

    1. When using the camera, tap Settings icon.
    2. Select a setting or press More.
    3. When More is selected, swipe the list to view the available settings.

    To view, share or edit photos and videos

    1. When using the camera, tap the thumbnail to open a photo or video.
    2. Flick left or right to view your photos and videos.
    3. Tap the screen, then tap Edit iconto edit a photo or video.
    4. Tap Share icon to share a photo or a video.

    Your photos and videos are stored in the Album application. See Viewing photos and videos for more options.
