    Customising your device

    You can adjust several device settings to suit your own needs. For example, you can change the language, add a personal ringtone, or change the screen brightness.

    Using multiple SIM cards

    The phone works with one or two SIM cards inserted. You get incoming communication to both SIM cards, and can select from which number you want to place outgoing communication. You can switch manually between the SIM cards, or make settings so that the phone switches automatically for you, depending on, for example, time of day or communication type. Before you can use both SIM cards, you need to enable the SIM cards in the phone settings.

    To enable or disable the use of two SIM cards

    1. From the Home screen, tap Icn sony home apptray normal .
    2. Find and tap Settings > Dual SIM card.
    3. Mark or unmark the SIM1 and SIM2 checkboxes.

    To rename a SIM card

    1. From the Home screen, tap Icn sony home apptray normal .
    2. Find and tap Settings > Dual SIM card.
    3. Tap a SIM card and enter a name for it.
    4. Tap OK.

    Switching between SIM cards

    You can select which SIM card to use, and the selected SIM card will be used for all outgoing calls and messages. Data traffic can be set to only run on one of the SIM cards. You will receive calls and messages to both SIM cards, however, during a call, only the active SIM card is available for communications.

    To switch between SIM cards manually

    1. Make sure that both SIM cards are enabled.
    2. From the Home screen, tap Icn sony home apptray normal .
    3. Find and tap Settings > Dual SIM card > Calls & messaging, then select a SIM card.
    TipThe currently active SIM card is indicated by an icon displaying the SIM card number (1 or 2) in the status bar.

    Setting the phone to switch between SIM cards automatically

    You can set the phone to switch SIM cards automatically at a set time. That way, all communications are made from the SIM card you select during the hours you want.

    To set the phone to switch SIM cards automatically

    1. From the Home screen, tap Icn sony home apptray normal .
    2. Find and tap Settings > Dual SIM card.
    3. Mark the Call & messaging and Data traffic checkboxes.
    4. Under Auto switch, select an option.
    5. Tap a SIM card and set the time period.

    Adjusting the volume

    You can adjust the ringtone volume for incoming calls and notifications as well as for music and video playback.

    To adjust the ring volume with the volume key

    • Press the volume key up or down.

    To adjust the media playing volume with the volume key

    • When playing music or watching video, press the volume key up or down.

    Adjusting the sound settings

    You can adjust several sound settings. For example, you can set your device to silent mode so that it doesn't ring when you're in a meeting.

    To set your device to vibrate mode

    • Press the volume key down until Icn sony statusbar vibrate on appears in the status bar.
    TipYou can also press and hold down the power key Icn sony key and power k90 and then tap Icn sony statusbar vibrate on in the menu that opens to set your device to vibrate mode.

    To set your device to silent mode

    1. Press the volume key down until the device vibrates and Icn sony statusbar vibrate on appears in the status bar.
    2. Press the volume key down again. Icn sony ics sound silenct appears in the status bar.
    TipYou can also press and hold down the power key Icn sony key and power k90 and then tap Icn sony ics sound silenct in the menu that opens to set your device to silent mode.

    To set your device to vibrate and ring mode

    1. From your Home screen, tap Icn sony home apptray normal.
    2. Find and tap Settings > Sound.
    3. Mark the Vibrate when ringing checkbox.

    Time and date

    You can change the time and date on your device.

    To set the date manually

    1. From the Home screen, tap Icn sony home apptray normal .
    2. Find and tap Settings > Date & time.
    3. Unmark the Automatic date & time checkbox, if it is marked.
    4. Tap Set date.
    5. Adjust the date by scrolling up and down.
    6. Tap Done.

    To set the time manually

    1. From your Home screen, tap Icn sony home apptray normal .
    2. Find and tap Settings > Date & time.
    3. Unmark the Automatic date & time checkbox if it is marked.
    4. Tap Set time.
    5. Scroll up or down to adjust the hour and minute.
    6. If applicable, scroll up to change am to pm, or vice versa.
    7. Tap Done.

    To set the time zone

    1. From your Home screen, tap Icn sony home apptray normal.
    2. Find and tap Settings > Date & time.
    3. Unmark the Automatic time zone checkbox, if it is marked.
    4. Tap Select time zone.
    5. Select an option.

    Ringtone settings

    To set a ringtone

    1. From your Home screen, tap Icn sony home apptray normal.
    2. Find and tap Settings > Sound > Phone ringtone.
    3. Select a SIM card.
    4. Select a ringtone.
    5. To confirm, tap Done.

    To enable touch tones

    1. From your Home screen, tap Icn sony home apptray normal.
    2. Find and tap Settings > Sound.
    3. Mark the Dial pad touch tones and Touch sounds checkboxes.

    To select the notification sound

    1. From your Home screen, tap Icn sony home apptray normal.
    2. Find and tap Settings > Sound > Notification sound.
    3. Select the sound to be played when notifications arrive.
    4. Tap Done.

    Screen settings

    To adjust the screen brightness

    1. From your Home screen, tap Icn sony home apptray normal.
    2. Find and tap Settings > Display > Brightness.
    3. Drag the slider to adjust the brightness.
    4. Tap OK.
    TipThe brightness level affects your battery performance. For tips on how to improve battery performance, see Improving battery performance.

    To set the screen to vibrate

    1. From your Home screen, tap Icn sony home apptray normal.
    2. Find and tap Settings > Sound.
    3. Mark the Vibrate on touch checkbox. The screen now vibrates when you tap soft keys and certain applications.

    To adjust the idle time before the screen turns off

    1. From your Home screen, tap Icn sony home apptray normal.
    2. Find and tap Settings > Display > Sleep.
    3. Select an option.
    TipTo turn off the screen quickly, briefly press the power key Icn sony key and power k90.

    Language settings

    You can select a default language for your device and change it again at a later time.

    To change the language

    1. From the Home screen, tap Icn sony home apptray normal.
    2. Find and tap Settings > Language & input > Language.
    3. Select an option.
    4. Tap OK.
    NoteIf you select the wrong language and cannot read the menu texts, find and tap Icn sony app settings. Then select the text beside Icn sony settings language and select the first entry in the menu that opens. You can then select the language you want.

    Airplane mode

    In Airplane mode, the network and radio transceivers are turned off to prevent disturbance to sensitive equipment. However, you can still play games, listen to music, watch videos and other content, as long as all this content is saved on your memory card or internal storage. You can also be notified by alarms, if alarms are activated.

    TipTurning on Airplane mode reduces battery consumption.

    To turn on Airplane mode

    1. From your Home screen, tap Icn sony home apptray normal .
    2. Find and tap Settings > More….
    3. Mark the Airplane mode checkbox.
    TipYou can also press and hold down the power key Icn sony key and power k90 and then select Airplane mode in the menu that opens.
